James Blendis

General Counsel & Company Secretary, EE

James was appointed General Counsel of EE following the merger of Orange and T-Mobile in 2010, and was previously General Counsel of T-Mobile UK for 6 years. James is Company Secretary to the Board and Chair of the Risk & Compliance Board. James has an MA & M.Phil from Cambridge University and is a solicitor.

James has led the legal & regulatory team through various mergers and integrations, including the recent acquisition by BT, was called as a witness to the Leveson Inquiry to explain and represent the business on the various aspects of mobile phone hacking and phone security, and then led EE through the launch of 4G to become the leading mobile operator in the UK. James was the Legal 500 Telecoms Individual of the Year in 2015.
