Alistair Asher
Group General Counsel, The Co-operative Group
Alistair joined The Co-operative Group in July 2013 as Group General Counsel. On joining the Group Alistair was working on the completion of the Co-operative Bank recapitalisation plan.
He is Chairman of The Co-operative Legal Services and sits on the board of The Co-operative General Insurance Services and NOMA (a joint venture with Hermes to redevelop the site around the Manchester office). Prior to that he was a senior partner and Head of the Financial Institutions Group for the law firm Allen & Overy where he gained over 30 years’ experience of a wide range of commercial and corporate finance transactions.
Alistair is married with three children and lives in the New Forest.
