Hans Von der Linde
Former General Counsel Downstream, SHELL
Until recently Hans von der Linde was General Counsel for Shell’s global Downstream business (refining, marketing and chemicals). He led a team of 300 people based in 40 countries. The head of Legal at Shell UK also reported to him. In 28 years with Shell, Hans has worked in the UK, Germany, the Netherlands and China. During his time as head of Legal for Shell in North East Asia, he chaired the legal committee of the European Chamber of Commerce in China.
Hans is an experienced M&A lawyer and has also worked in government relations and issues management. He has a keen interest in developing people, and has been in charge of talent management across Shell Legal since 2004.
